My aim here is simply to get old cameras out shooting again. I do have some costs though, in tools, materials and time. I aim never to charge more than the camera is worth as I think that rather defeats the object. On the other hand, if you want me to fix your Hasselblad then I’m thinking you might have a few pennies for your hobby!
Also I have a NO FIX – NO FEE policy, which I think is reasonable.
Broadly I have three charges though these are pretty vague/flexible as each job is unique:
- £15 – for toy cameras, junkers, simple fixes and smaller cameras
- £25 – for proper cameras, middling fixes and more serious repairs
- £45 – for medium format cameras like Bronicas, Hasselblads, Rolleis, etc and for complex/multiple repairs
None of these include parts. Or postage. I live in Brighton, so if you are local I usually arrange to meet and pickup somewhere like the Iydea cafe when I’m next in town.
I’ll let you know where I think your camera fits into these prices, so there won’t be any nasty surprises.
If you think I can help, give me a call.
